2L Rotary evaporator is mainly used for continuous distillation of volatile solvents under reduced pressure, and is used in chemistry, chemical industry, biomedicine and other fields.
Working principle of 2L rotary evaporator：
Vacuum evaporation is used as a method of evaporation, because reducing the pressure above the liquid will reduce the boiling point of the component liquid, thereby speeding up the evaporation to a certain extent. The evaporating flask is placed in a water bath for constant temperature heating and at the same time it is rotating itself, and the solution in the bottle is heated, diffused and evaporated under the negative pressure condition in the rotating flask. The evaporation system can be sealed and decompressed to 400 to 600 mm Hg. Heating the solvent in the distillation bottle with a heating bath can be heated to a temperature close to the boiling point of the solvent. At the same time, it can also be rotated at a speed of 50 to 160 rpm to make the solvent form a thin film. Increase the evaporation area, in addition, under the action of the high-efficiency condenser tube, the hot steam can be quickly liquefied to speed up the distillation rate.
2L Rotary evaporator structure:
The 2L rotary evaporator is mainly composed of: motor, distillation bottle, vacuum system, heating pot, condenser tube and other parts.
1. Rotary motor
The operation of the rotating motor needs to be driven by electricity, and the operation of the motor on the 2L rotary evaporator requires uniform speed operation, so that the distillation flask is driven to rotate at a uniform speed. It should be said that this type of rotation is more in line with various experiments. required.
2. Evaporation glass tube
Here we mainly understand the two important functions of the evaporation glass tube. On the one hand, the evaporation glass tube can achieve the purpose of supporting and protecting when the sample is rotated. Another function is that the political and legal glass tube can realize the vacuum device to extract the sample.
3. Vacuum device
It should be known that the vacuum device on the 2L rotary evaporator can greatly reduce the overall air pressure on the 2L rotary evaporator, which is conducive to the normal operation of the experiment.
4. Fluid heating pot
The main function of such accessories on the distillation apparatus is to heat the sample, and then control the required temperature better to achieve the required temperature.
5. Condenser tube
The main purpose of use: to condense the sample for easy collection.
How to use the 2L rotary evaporator:
1. Turn on the low temperature coolant circulation pump. Pay attention to press the power button and then press the cooling button, and the cycle will start after the required temperature is lowered.
2. Turn on the water pump to circulate the water.
3. Fit the distillation flask and secure it with clamps. Turn on the vacuum pump and start to rotate after a certain vacuum.
4. Adjust the height and rotation speed of the distillation flask, and set the appropriate water bath temperature.
5. After steaming, stop the rotation first, then open the atmosphere, then stop the water pump, and finally remove the distillation flask.
6. Stop the low-temperature coolant circulation pump, stop the water bath heating, turn off the circulating water of the water pump, pour out the solvent in the receiving bottle, wash the buffer ball, and receive the bottle.
Precautions for using 2L rotary evaporator:
1. When using, first draw a small vacuum (to about 0.03MPa), and then turn on the rotation to prevent the distillation flask from slipping; when stopping, first stop the rotation, hold the distillation flask by hand, and ventilate the atmosphere, and wait until the vacuum degree drops to about 0.04MPa. Stop the vacuum pump to prevent the distillation bottle from falling off and sucking back.
2. Each interface, sealing surface, sealing ring and joints need to be coated with a layer of vacuum grease before installation.
3. Water must be added before the heating tank is powered on, dry heating without water is not allowed.
4. If the vacuum degree is too low, check the airtightness of each joint, vacuum tube and glass bottle.
5. When rotary evaporating air-sensitive substances, connect a nitrogen balloon to the exhaust port, pass a burst of nitrogen gas first, discharge the air in the 2L rotary evaporator, and then connect the sample bottle to 2L rotary evaporator. After steaming, release nitrogen to increase the pressure, then turn off the pump, then remove the sample bottle and seal it.
6. If the viscosity of the sample is very high, the rotation speed should be slowed down, it is best to rotate slowly manually, so as to form a new liquid surface and facilitate the solvent to evaporate.

Advantages of Small Volume Rotary Evaporator
1. Quick and easy lifting mechanism
RE201D, RE301 and RE501 Extraction Solvent Kit are water tank lifting. Turning the handwheel on the oil/water bath drives the bath to lift and go down. RE52 series is the motor thread lifting, that is, turning the handwheel on the screw stem will drive the rotating flask, rotating motor, condenser and collecting flask to lift or go down at the same time.

3. High evaporation rate vertical condensation system
The condenser adopts two structures. One is the dual pipeline convection principle and is used for evaporating organic solvents. The other is single pipe container with interlayer that could hold cooling water, ice and drikold. It is vertical type to decrease volume and is used for evaporating organic solvents.
4. Heating Tank
Stainless steel heating tube provides heat source. The temperature range will be RT~99 ℃ with water. The water tank is cylindrical and made of high quality stainless steel. So it is corrosion resistance and durable. The tanks are available for 2-20liter rotating flask heated. Moreover, the tank can be moved according the rotating flask size.
5. Vacuum Sealing
PTFE evaporating pipe, good sealing and heat-resisting. Joint part is sealed Fluorine rubber mat which brings good performance.
6. Automatic Temperature Control Digital Display
Temperature digital display and control by pt100 sensor. when the pre-selected temperature is reached the temperature you setted, the controller automatically will turn off the heater supply, When it is lower than the pre-selected temperature, controller will switch on automatically to realize constant temperature.
7. Rotating flask and Collection flask
The flasks are made of GG-17 high borosilicate glass which is blowed by hand. Their intensity, concentricity, glossiness, and surface finish are better than rough flasks.
