The laboratory rotary evaporator is a common laboratory equipment composed of a motor, a distillation bottle, a heating pot, a condenser tube, etc. It is mainly used for continuous distillation of volatile solvents under reduced pressure. It is often used in chemistry, chemical industry, Biomedicine and other fields.
Laboratory rotary evaporator structure:
The distillation flask is an eggplant-shaped or round-bottomed flask with a standard ground joint. It is connected to the decompression pump through a high-level reflux serpentine condenser tube. The other opening of the reflux condenser tube is connected to a receiving flask with a ground joint for Receive the evaporated organic solvent. There is a three-way piston between the condenser tube and the decompression pump. When the system is connected to the atmosphere, the distillation flask and the liquid-contacting flask can be removed to transfer the solvent. When the system is connected to the decompression pump, the system should be at a reduced pressure pressure state. When in use, depressurize first, and then start the motor to rotate the distillation flask. When the end is over, stop the machine first, and then ventilate the atmosphere to prevent the distillation flask from falling off during rotation. As a heat source for distillation, it is often equipped with a corresponding constant temperature water tank.
Laboratory rotary evaporator operation method:
1. Insert the pole supporting the glass condenser, and then tighten the two stainless steel screws to fix it.
2. Insert the evaporating tube into the inner shaft of the reduction box and screw the pressure cap tightly. Install parallel rings, O-rings, T-rings.
3. Install the glass four-way, after the four-way interface and the T-ring are properly positioned, tighten the large screw, but be careful not to over-tighten, otherwise the service life of the O-ring will be shortened.
4. For the installation of the condensate bottle, evenly coat the interface of the condensate bottle with vacuum grease, insert it into the No. 40 grinding port of the cross, and then tighten the fixing screw on the holding belt block, and adjust the position of the screw and the long hole of the holding belt , change the joint position and angle of the glass four-way and the sealing ring, and achieve the best vacuum state.
5. Install the receiving bottle and evaporating bottle on the rotary evaporator, apply vacuum grease evenly on the grinding mouth, and clamp it with clamps.
6. Add an appropriate amount of water to the water bath, turn on the power, set the heating temperature, and the heating indicator light is on, then it can be used normally.
7. The lifting height and moving distance position of the rotator of the rotary evaporator, so that the evaporating bottle is placed in a suitable water bath.
8. Description of the locking sign: Turn the handle to the left, loosen the locking device and adjust it to a suitable height, and then tighten it to the right.
Laboratory rotary evaporator features:

Maintenance points of laboratory rotary evaporator:
1. Check the instrument carefully before use, whether the glass bottle is damaged, whether the interfaces are consistent, and handle with care.
2. Wipe each interface with a soft cloth (you can replace it with a napkin), and then apply a little vacuum grease. Vacuum grease must be covered after use to prevent lime sand from entering.
3. The connectors should not be tightened too tightly, and should be loosened regularly to avoid the connectors being seized by long-term locking.
4. Turn on the power switch first, and then let the machine run from slow to fast. When stopping, make the machine stop, and then turn off the switch.
5. The PTFE switches everywhere should not be over-tightened, as it is easy to damage the glass.
6. After each use, you must use a soft cloth to wipe off all kinds of oil stains, stains, and solvent residues left on the surface of the machine, and keep it clean.
7. Unscrew each PTFE switch after stopping the machine, and the PTFE piston will be deformed if it is still in the working state for a long time.
8. Clean the sealing ring regularly. The method is: take off the sealing ring, check whether there is dirt on the shaft, wipe it off with a soft cloth, apply a little vacuum grease, and reinstall it to keep the shaft and the sealing ring smooth.
9. The electrical part must not enter the water, and it is strictly forbidden to be damp.
The laboratory rotary evaporator is an evaporation instrument widely used in the laboratory. It is suitable for reflux operation, rapid evaporation of a large amount of solvents, concentration of trace components and reaction processes that require stirring, etc. The heating bath heats the solvent in the distillation bottle, and the heating temperature can be close to the boiling point of the solvent, so that the solvent forms a thin film and increases the evaporation area.
